This retail space had foundation settling that made the floor very uneven by about 3 degrees. The left side of the picture was about 7 inches lower than the right over a 20ft span. We ripped down the existing decaying plywood. Then we sister beamed every member and installed new plywood. The tenant will get their own finished flooring. Such settling normally happens when the footings are laid on disturbed soil or soil with organic material. The spread footings should have been wider.
